The FOX SBE Series Electric Safety Block represents an outstanding technical solution, specifically designed to protect the accumulator from overpressure within complex hydraulic circuits. This oil-side component, available in both manual and electric configurations, is essential for maintaining the safe operation of hydraulic systems and preventing structural failures.

Operating Principle and Composition

The safety block is structured to provide the operator with fast, complete and safe accumulator control. Internally, the system consists of a series of high-precision elements: a shut-off valve for promptly blocking the flow, a safety valve dedicated to monitoring pressure peaks, and a discharge knob to facilitate depressurization. Completing the technical configuration of the unit are a specific provision for pressure gauge connection and a dedicated drainage provision hole, features that greatly facilitate diagnostic routines and regular maintenance.

Construction Features

The device’s resistance to mechanical stress is guaranteed by its construction quality. The main body of the block is manufactured from solid galvanized steel, designed for use in standard industrial environments. For sectors or applications requiring a higher degree of corrosion resistance, the component is also available in a stainless steel version. The safety block ensures optimal and safe operation up to a maximum operating pressure of 350 bar. As for thermal parameters, the standard operating temperature is between -20°C and +80°C, making the device suitable for multiple environmental conditions.

Solenoid Valve Specifications and Compliance

A distinctive feature of the SBE Series is its robust solenoid valve. This unit is CE/PED certified, ensuring full compliance with European regulatory standards for pressure equipment safety. From an electrical standpoint, the valve is powered at 24V and is manufactured in the standard N.O. version (Normally Open). If project requirements demand it, it can be ordered in the N.C. version (Normally Closed). For installations subject to the strictest testing requirements, the block can be supplied equipped with a safety valve previously tested by a third-party body.

Connections, Flow Rates and Variants

Mounting versatility is ensured by the wide availability of different connections for both the accumulator side and the system side. To ensure exact couplings, the technical datasheet recommends the use of proprietary VS, NS, SAE3000 or SAE6000 Series adapters. The models in the line, such as the SBOE Series and the fully electric versions from SB110E to SB113E, are identified by a configurable code that accommodates every connection configuration. These variants cover recommendations for accumulators with volumes ranging from 0.05 litres to 50 litres, guaranteeing fluid flow rates from 50 l/min for the base model up to a maximum of 295 l/min for the larger SB6E variant.
