Construction Features and Materials

Grouped Aegi Heavy Series Clamps provide the definitive solution for the rigid and secure fastening of pipes in complex hydraulic systems. The Heavy Series is designed to absorb shocks and vibrations under demanding operating conditions, covering a wide range of outside diameters (O.D.) from 6 mm up to 219.1 mm, equivalent to imperial sizes from 1/4″ to 8″. The diameters are divided into eight size groups (DIN 1 to 8), ensuring ideal scalability for every design requirement.

The clamp bodies can be configured in four different materials to meet specific operating and regulatory requirements:

• Polypropylene (AMP.P): Standard material for general industrial applications.
• Self-Extinguishing Polyamide (MMP.P): Optimised for environments requiring high fire-safety standards.
• Rubber (RMP.P): Ideal for maximum vibration absorption and noise reduction.
• Aluminium (AMLL.P): Used to provide high mechanical strength and resistance under extreme conditions.

Clamp Half Variants and Design

The central fastening element consists of a pair of clamp halves, identified by the suffix C for the pair and S for an individual clamp half. Depending on the pipe anchoring requirements, the clamp halves are available with two internal configurations:

• Standard Type with Profiled Inner Surface: Features internal ribs that securely grip the pipe, preventing longitudinal movement and absorbing axial forces.
• Type H with Smooth Inner Surface: Designed for applications where the pipe must be able to expand or move slightly without being scored or damaged on the surface.

Modular Fastening System Components

The mounting system for Grouped Aegi Heavy Series Clamps is fully modular, allowing different installation configurations. A complete clamp assembly (e.g. APINP + AMP.P + APSP + AVTEP) consists of:

• Lower Plate (APINP): Weld or fastening base, available with thicknesses (dimension S) ranging from 8 mm for the smaller groups up to 25 mm for Group 8, to support the heaviest loads.
• Upper Plate (APSP) or Safety Upper Plate (APMRSP): Components used to close and secure the clamp.
• Hexagon Head Bolts (AVTEP and AVTEAP): Fastening bolts sized according to the clamp group. Thread sizes range from M10 for Groups 1, 2 and 3 up to M30 for Group 8, with lengths of up to 300 mm to ensure deep and robust anchoring.

Mounting Rail Installation Systems

In addition to standard installation using a lower weld plate, the Heavy Series supports series mounting on structural rails. This is made possible through the use of mounting rails (ABINP) with a robust thickness of 5 mm, combined with dedicated mounting rail nuts (ADESP) with M10 and M12 threads, allowing multiple pipe runs to be aligned quickly and precisely.
