Description
Construction and Functional Features
Oleo Tecnica 90° BSP Threaded Flanges with 60° Conical Seal are hydraulic components designed to ensure maximum reliability in connections for circuits operating under high pressure. The 90-degree configuration with a 60-degree conical seal, combined with GAS (BSP) threading, allows precise fitting and optimal mechanical and leak-tight sealing. The components are designed for installation in complex hydraulic systems and are available in sizes ranging from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2, covering a wide range of flow-rate and piping-dimension requirements.
Series and Working Pressures
The range is divided into two main pressure categories, designed to meet different operating loads:
- Series 3000: Offers a maximum recommended working pressure that varies according to size. Specifically, it provides 345 Kg/cm² for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes. The maximum pressure decreases to 276 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/4 size and to 207 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/2 size.
- Series 6000: Designed to withstand significantly higher loads, this series maintains a constant maximum recommended working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across all available sizes, from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2.
Materials and Ordering Designations
Oleo Tecnica 90° BSP Threaded Flanges with 60° Conical Seal are manufactured in two construction materials to suit the specific environmental and chemical conditions of the circuit:
- S355: Carbon steel, identified by the “AFS” prefixes in the ordering designation.
- AISI 316L: Stainless steel, for applications requiring high corrosion resistance, identified by the “AFX” prefixes.
The ordering system is highly modular. Components can be ordered as “Flange only” (suffix 90B), or complete with fastening and sealing sets. Complete options include a flange supplied with metric screws, spring washers and O-Ring (suffix 90BM), or with UNC screws, spring washers and O-Ring (suffix 90BU). It is important to note that complete UNC screw sets are made available by the manufacturer exclusively in carbon steel.
Assembly Specifications, Fasteners and Seals
Assembly is supported by a diversified range of screws and O-Rings depending on series and size. The O-Rings used follow specific standards (types 4075, 4100, 4131, 4150 and 4187). For fastening, Series 3000 uses metric screws ranging from M8x30 up to M12x35 (and UNC from 5/16″x1″1/4 to 1/2″x1″3/4). Series 6000 requires larger fasteners to handle higher pressures, with metric screws from M8x30 up to M16x55 and corresponding UNC screws. This also results in an increase in overall flange weight, ranging from 0.25 Kg for the smallest version (Series 3000) up to 2.75 Kg for the 1″1/2 Series 6000 model.
