Oleo Tecnica 90° Socket-Weld Flanges for Metric Pipe represent a fundamental connection solution for high-pressure hydraulic circuits. This type of fitting ensures a secure, leak-tight connection for metric pipes, withstanding the severe stresses typical of hydraulic systems. To meet different application requirements and fluid compatibility needs, the flanges are manufactured in two material options. S355 carbon steel is used for standard applications, while AISI 316L stainless steel is suitable for corrosive operating environments or sectors requiring the highest standards of corrosion resistance.

Pressure Specifications and Available Series

The dimensional range includes sizes from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2 and is divided into two main categories according to hydraulic pressure resistance specifications:

• Series 3000: Designed for maximum recommended working pressures of 345 Kg/cm2 for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes. The 1″1/4 size is rated to withstand up to 276 Kg/cm2, while the 1″1/2 size reaches 207 Kg/cm2.
• Series 6000: Intended for circuits requiring very high-pressure specifications. It supports up to 414 Kg/cm2 for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes. The 1″1/4 sizes provide a maximum pressure rating of 276 Kg/cm2 (available in variants for M12 or M14 screws), while the largest 1″1/2 size operates safely up to 320 Kg/cm2.

During system design, it is essential to specify that the maximum recommended working pressure stated in the catalogue is based exclusively on the structural specifications of the flange. The actual maximum working pressure of the complete hydraulic system will instead be determined by the thickness of the pipe used and by the quality of the pipe steel itself.

Weights and Sealing Components

Component weights increase progressively to meet designers’ structural sizing requirements. They range from 0.28 Kg for the 1/2″ models in both series (using type 4075 O-rings) up to 1.18 Kg for the 1″1/2 Series 3000 flange and 2.75 Kg for the corresponding Series 6000 size (both equipped with type 4187 O-rings). Intermediate 3/4″, 1″ and 1″1/4 sizes use type 4100, 4131 and 4150 O-ring seals respectively.

Supply Options and Designation

To maximise installation flexibility, the flanges can be ordered in different configurations. The base component (flange only) is identified by the codes AFS…90SA (for S355 material) or AFX…90SA (for AISI 316L material).
For quick and complete assembly, the fittings are available with fastening and sealing components:

• Flange complete with metric screws, spring washers and O-ring (designation with suffix “…M”).
• Flange complete with UNC screws, spring washers and O-ring (designation with suffix “…U”).

It is explicitly noted that the UNC screw set for these assemblies is supplied by the manufacturer exclusively in carbon steel.
