Available in Series 3000 and 6000, they are compatible with SCH.80, SCH.160 and SCH.XXS pipes. Manufactured in S355 or AISI 316L steel, they support working pressures up to 414 Kg/cm². They feature metric or UNC threaded fastening holes to suit different system requirements.
The available product code families are: GFS…ST, GFX…ST, GFS…STU, GFX…STU, GFS…STB, GFX…STB.

Description

Construction Features and Hydraulic Reliability

Oleo Tecnica Butt-Weld Counter Flanges represent a reference standard for creating secure flanged connections in hydraulic systems operating under high-pressure conditions. The butt-weld configuration ensures optimal structural continuity between the flange and the pipe, minimising potential structural weak points and supporting rigorous fluid contamination control within the hydraulic circuit. Designed to withstand mechanical stresses and pressure peaks, these counter flanges are essential components for maintaining the integrity of complex industrial systems.

Size Series and Working Pressures

The Oleo Tecnica catalogue divides these components into two main categories according to the required performance: Series 3000 and Series 6000.

Series 3000 is available in sizes ranging from 1/2″ up to 5″. The maximum recommended working pressure for this series starts at 345 Kg/cm² for smaller diameters and reaches 138 Kg/cm² for larger sizes (from 3″ to 5″).

Series 6000, designed for heavy-duty applications, covers sizes from 1/2″ to 3″, providing significantly higher pressure resistance. It reaches 414 Kg/cm² for diameters up to 2″, while maintaining high performance (200-350 Kg/cm²) for 2″1/2 and 3″ diameters.

It is essential to note that the maximum recommended working pressure is a parameter based exclusively on the flange: the maximum working pressure of the complete system is always determined by the wall thickness and steel quality of the pipe used.

Compatibility and Pipe Schedules

A crucial engineering aspect for the correct installation of Oleo Tecnica Butt-Weld Counter Flanges is dimensional compatibility with the pipe. The counter flanges are manufactured in three schedule variants to accommodate different pipe wall thicknesses: SCH.80, SCH.160 and SCH.XXS.

During sizing and ordering, it is essential to verify that dimensions “A” and “B” of the counter flange correspond exactly to the schedule of the pipe being used. This verification prevents abnormal flow restrictions, pressure drops or structural weakening of the weld.

Materials and Fastening Hole Options

To meet different environmental and industry requirements, the counter flanges are available in two materials. S355 steel provides excellent mechanical strength for standard industrial applications, while AISI 316L stainless steel offers maximum corrosion resistance, making it ideal for marine, chemical or offshore environments.

For installation, the components offer versatile fastening-hole options: metric threaded fastening holes (standard designation) or UNC threaded fastening holes (designation with the suffix “U”).
