Oleo Tecnica Cut Split Flanges

Oleo Tecnica Cut Split Flanges are essential hydraulic components for secure, high-pressure system connections. Available in Series 3000, with pressure ratings up to 345 Kg/cm², and Series 6000, with ratings up to 414 Kg/cm², they cover nominal sizes from 1/2″ to 5″. They are manufactured from S355 steel with Cr3 zinc plating or AISI 316L stainless steel. Supplied exclusively in pairs, they are available either as basic configurations or as complete kits with fastening screws (metric or UNC), Grower washers and O-ring seals, ensuring maximum adaptability.
The available base product codes are: AFS301B, AFS302B, AFS303B, AFS304B, AFS304L1075B, AFS304L1275B, AFS305B, AFS305L1475B, AFS306B, AFS306L1475B, AFS307B, AFS307L1475B, AFS308B, AFS309B, AFS310B, AFS311B, AFS601B, AFS602B, AFS603B, AFS603L12B, AFS604B, AFS604L13B, AFS605B, AFS606B, AFP607, AFP608. (Base codes for standard and flat flanges are listed; stainless steel versions belong to the AFX/AFPX families, while complete kits use the M/BM and U/BU suffixes).

Description

Technical Specifications and Working Pressures

Oleo Tecnica Cut Split Flanges are designed to ensure maximum hydraulic sealing in circuits subjected to varying pressure loads. The range is divided into two main categories according to load capacity and structural dimensions. Series 3000 is intended for systems with standard operating pressures, offering a maximum recommended working pressure that decreases as diameter increases: it reaches 345 Kg/cm² for the smaller sizes (from 1/2″ to 1″1/4), decreases to 276 Kg/cm² for intermediate sizes (from 1″1/2 to 2″), drops to 207 Kg/cm² for sizes from 2″1/2 to 3″, and finally reaches 172 Kg/cm² for 3″1/2, 138 Kg/cm² for 4″ and 34 Kg/cm² for 5″.

For heavy-duty applications, Series 6000 ensures very high-pressure sealing, maintaining a constant maximum recommended working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across all catalogue sizes, ranging from 1/2″ up to 2″. These are complemented by Cut Flat Split Flanges, available in 2″1/2 and 3″ sizes (codes AFP607 and AFP608), which are also capable of withstanding working pressures of up to 414 Kg/cm².

Construction Materials and Surface Treatments

Metallurgical reliability is ensured through the use of materials selected according to the environmental and structural requirements of the hydraulic system. Standard split flanges are manufactured from S355 carbon steel (identified by the AFS or AFP codes). These versions feature a protective Cr3 zinc-plated surface treatment, which prevents oxidation and improves component durability in aggressive industrial environments. It is important to note that the cut flat split flange variants (AFP series) are supplied unplated.

For highly corrosive environments, such as marine or chemical applications, the components are available in AISI 316L stainless steel (identified by AFX family codes for standard split flanges and AFPX for flat split flanges).

Configurations, Mounting Kits and Designations

The product is supplied strictly in pairs. To simplify maintenance and installation operations, the components can be ordered using specific designations that identify the level of kit completeness. The AFS…B and AFP codes (for S355 material) and AFX and AFPX codes (for AISI 316L material) identify the supply of the split flange pair only.

Designers can request complete mounting kits that include the hardware required for correct hydraulic installation. By adding the suffix “M” (designations AFX…M, AFS…BM, AFP…M), the split flange pair is supplied complete with metric screws, Grower washers and an O-ring seal. Where the system requires inch threads, the suffix “U” (designations AFS…BU, AFX…U) identifies kits complete with UNC screws, Grower washers and O-ring. The technical documentation specifies that UNC screw sets are available only in carbon steel. Likewise, for specific flat flanges, screw sets are available only in metric format and carbon steel.

Dimensions and Fasteners

Each model features precise geometric dimensions to ensure perfect coupling with hydraulic pipes and blocks. Hole spacing (dimensions E, F, G, H), collar thickness and hole diameter (dimension L) are specific to each size. As an example, the weight of a single component ranges from a minimum of 0.12 Kg for the 1/2″ Series 3000 model (AFS301B) up to 6.70 Kg for the 3″ cut flat flange (AFP608), which requires heavy-duty M30x100 or 1″1/8×3″1/2 fastening screws. Metric screws cover a range from small M8x30 fasteners up to M30x100 bolts, ensuring compliance with torque and preload requirements for the flanged joint.
