The main structure of the Miselli Filling and Breather Plug Series TA is made entirely of galvanized steel, a material that gives the component high structural strength. To protect and complete the upper part of the device, there is a cover with a chrome-plated surface, ensuring excellent resistance and a high-quality technical finish. The fastening system provided for installation on the tank is screw-mounted. This type of screw mounting is compatible with a wide range of threads, starting from G.1/4″ diameter connections up to G.1″ diameter connections, offering broad versatility for integration on hydraulic machinery and systems of different sizes.
The primary function of the device is to allow air exchange and filtration in and out, mediating volumetric communication between the hydraulic tank and the external environment. To ensure maximum protection of the operating fluid from particulate contamination, the TA Series is equipped with an internal air filter. The filtering element is made of polyurethane foam. The standard filtration rating offered by this element is 40 microns, effectively blocking atmospheric impurities. For applications requiring an even stricter level of cleanliness, a version of the filtering element with a finer filtration rating of 10 microns is available upon request.
A critical parameter for correct plug selection is the air flow rate, indicated by the letter P in the technical specifications. The nominal air flow values expressed in liters per minute (Lt/min.) were accurately measured and recorded by applying a reference inlet pressure of 50 mbar. The range is divided into two main dimensional categories, identified by the cover diameter (D1). For models with a D1 diameter of 46 mm (variants TA4046-14, TA4046-38, TA4046-12 and TA4046-34), the guaranteed air flow varies according to the thread. Specifically, a flow rate of 130 Lt/min. is recorded for the G1/4 thread, 168 Lt/min. for the G3/8 thread, with a peak of 175 Lt/min. for the G1/2 version and 170 Lt/min. for the G3/4 connection. For larger models, characterized by an external D1 diameter of 80 mm (variants TA4080-12, TA4080-34 and TA4080-1), the venting capacities are significantly higher. In this configuration, the air flow reaches 670 Lt/min. for the G1/2 connection, and stands at 680 Lt/min. for both the G3/4 thread version and the maximum G1 thread version.
The entire series offers a wide choice in terms of geometric dimensions and overall size. The total height (H1) ranges from a minimum of 52 mm in the most compact model (TA4046-14) up to a maximum of 74 mm in the top model (TA4080-1). Installation is facilitated by the wrench sizes (Ch) for tightening, which start from 17 mm for the smallest models and reach up to 36 mm. The component weight reflects its metal structure: the 46 mm series models weigh between 60 grams and 120 grams. Moving to the 80 mm diameter variants, the total weight increases, starting from 200 grams for model TA4080-12 and reaching 300 grams for variant TA4080-1.
