The Miselli Breather Plug Series TSF – TSAF is designed to ensure high air flow in hydraulic components while maintaining compact external dimensions. Made of durable Polyamide 66 with a vertical-lobed grip for quick manual tightening, it operates safely up to 100°C. The range variants include air filters made of polyurethane foam (PPI 60) or sintered bronze (BR Series) for applications subject to heavy oil splashes. The TSAF model also integrates a phosphated steel level dipstick, offering a complete solution for fluid control.
The Miselli Breather Plug Series TSF – TSAF represents an advanced technical solution for managing venting and filling in hydraulic tanks. Precisely manufactured from high-performance thermoplastic material, specifically Polyamide 66, these components ensure excellent mechanical and thermal resistance, supporting a maximum operating temperature of up to 100°C. The design features a threaded plug with a cylindrical head equipped with vertical lobes, a geometric choice that ensures an optimal grip during manual tightening operations, facilitating maintenance work. The standard functional appearance includes a black body combined with a red cap bearing the wording “OIL”, with the possibility of cap customization for suitable quantities. Perfect hydraulic sealing is entrusted to a gasket fitted with a flat washer made of NBR 70 Shore compound, designed to prevent unwanted leaks and seepage.
These breather plugs have been engineered with the primary objective of achieving excellent air flow while maintaining extremely compact external dimensions. The air flow rate, accurately measured at a pressure of 50 mbar, ensures proper volumetric compensation of the tank during operating cycles. The standard air filtration system uses a reticulated polyester-based polyurethane foam element (PPI 60 classification), strategically positioned under the plug cap to intercept environmental impurities.
The range is available in several configurations to meet multiple system requirements. The base TSF series provides the combined function of breather plug with integrated filter. For direct fluid level monitoring needs, the TSAF model integrates a level dipstick made of phosphated steel. This dipstick has a round section of 4 mm and a standard length of 196 mm. For orders exceeding 250 pieces, the dipstick can be customized with different lengths and with engraved minimum and maximum level marks. In addition to the standard versions, the range includes TSF/BR and TSAF/BR variants, characterized by the use of a sintered bronze air filter with an indicative filtration grade of 30μ. As regards tank connections, the components are available with standard threads and, upon specific request, can also be supplied with American tapered NPT threads.
The use of variants equipped with a sintered bronze filter is strongly recommended in all critical hydraulic applications where the breather is subject to heavy oil splashes. This severe operating condition frequently occurs during machine start-up, especially when the hydraulic oil is still very dense due to low ambient temperatures or inactivity. In these specific scenarios, the sintered bronze filter element ensures the free passage of the airflow required for venting and, at the same time, effectively prevents accidental oil leakage. A fundamental technical advantage of this solution lies in the fact that the bronze filter does not remain soaked when it comes into direct contact with the fluid, thus ensuring constant venting performance over time and preventing premature clogging of the component.
